Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ) for the first time stepped outside Chennai, Tamil Nadu to expand its retail presence by opening a 5000 sq ft store in Bangalore. VBJ is slated to expand in 5 more locations giving priority to metro cities of southern India.

Vummidi Bangaru Jewellers (VBJ), a part of 116-years old Vummidi Group dealing with jewellery business since year 1900, opens its first store outside Chennai in Bangalore. Having two flagship stores in Chennai, this new 5000 sq ft store is situated at Jayanagar, Bangalore.

Talking on trying another state and city for their brick-and-mortar retail operation, Jithendra Vummidi, Managing Partner, VBJ, explained, “Having operated out of Tamil Nadu with great elan, we  wanted to get out of our comfort zone but not at the cost of compromising with our quality and services. We put great amount of time and effort to create a back-end operation as excellent as we have in Chennai. While, venturing out, we wanted to try Bangalore first for its proximity to Chennai and obviously for the premium customer base being one of the best metros.” VBJ is slated to expand in 5 more locations giving priority to metro cities of southern India. “Bangalore has been a good learning experience for us and we want to envision our retail expansion plan as a slow and steady process. We see lot of opportunities in cities like Hyderabad and Vijaywada but we’ll take one step at a time to build unmatchable back-end support for respective cities,” Vummidi added.

VBJ Bangalore showroom has been designed by the city-based architecture firm Restore and the fixtures have been done by Elemental Fixtures Pvt. Ltd..
