Spar has collaborated with push-cart vendors of various localities. The ‘click and collect’ business model will help one get fresh fruits and vegetables right to one’s door steps.
SPAR Hypermarket recently entered the mobile hawking category with its new venture ‘SPAR on Wheels’. This has been launched as a pilot project in Bangalore so far and the retailer has further plans to scale it up in other places. This is the first time perhaps in the retail market space in India that a brand has ventured into the local hawker market in an attempt to organize an unorganized sector. It is an initiative by the SPAR omnichannel department. All you have to do is order your necessities online. Your order will then be delivered to your home on their technology enabled vehicles. The ‘click and collect’ business model will help one get fresh fruits and vegetables right to one’s door steps.
Spar has collaborated with push-cart vendors of various localities, who know their localities thoroughly. These vendors are the ones running the tech enabled trucks. They are given incentivized remuneration, which makes way for them to earn more with more sales and this scalable business model is giving them an opportunity to earn a better living.
