Skechers continues to expand; opens stores in Nagpur, Guwahati and Navi Mumbai

Sports and lifestyle footwear brand from the US, Skechers, has recently opened stores in Nagpur, Navi Mumbai and Guwahati. The Nagpur store at Dharampeth spans over 800 sq ft while a 1002 sq ft store opens at Navi Mumbai’s new retail destination Seawoods Mall and a 800 sq ft store at Guwahati’s Central Mall. Currently the brand has 75 retail exclusive brand outlets in India.

Speaking on the store launches, Rahul Vira – CEO, Skechers South Asia Pvt Ltd, said, “At Skechers our aim is to provide customers with shoes that are technologically and fashionably advanced. With comfort at the core, we ensure that there is perpetual innovation and upgradation of technology behind all the products we create. These are promising markets for Skechers and we hope to offer the best in the athleisure and sportswear category to our consumers here.” Skechers is coming up with two more stores in recent future at Noida’s Mall of India and Pune’s Pavillion Mall, which will span over 757 sq ft and 1241 sq ft respectively.

In an exclusive interview given to VM&RD lately, Vira mentioned, “Our growth story in India is robust now. We have plan to open a total number of 70 stores in this year taking our EBO count to 140-145 in India. Skechers is no longer be limited to metro cities but will continue opening its door to tier I and tier II cities.”
